***Special Workshop with Super Simple Songs Sunday April 12th 1.30pm to 4pm CLICK HERE***
We had a great meeting with lots of really practical useful teaching activities being demonstrated.
Many thanks to Emi for her 3 warm up songs.
The main presenter was Yoriko, with information on how to use the forthcoming Eigo Note, the new and widely adopted note cum text book to be adopted in 5th and 6th grades at Japanese Elementary Schools from April 2009. She also gave a demo reading of Honk! Toot! Beep! (My First Hello Reader), and showed how to use visual aids to increase meaning and understanding when using English songs in the KEFL classroom. She also showed the fun “Make 21″ game for popular Japanese kid’s food.
Miki also hosted a brief discussion on retention and attracting new students, with blended into Craig’s discussion and demonstration on how he uses monthly “Story Time” events to attract people from his local community.
More details of this meeting will be added as soon as possible.
Attendees were also asked to bring a “teaching friend” if possible, so if you were unable to attend, please don’t forget to tell your teaching colleagues and friends. Please reserve places very soon, as there will soon be an announcement in Fukuoka Now.
Many thanks to all those who attended and presented. We are looking forward to seeing those of you who were unable to make it at the Special Workshop.
