No January or February meeting

What? Why no meetings? January is a holiday month, so ACET never has a meeting in January.  In February, there are a number of other teaching events which would otherwise clash with ACET’s anticipated meeting dates of February 1st or 8th. Furthermore, AMIKAS’s rooms are fully booked for the other Sundays in February.

ETJ meeting February 2009

ETJ FUKUOKA welcomes ACET members to their special workshop on February 1st at Tenjin Center Building.  The workshop is from 1:30 to 4:00.

The topic will be TPR-S (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) with Melinda Kawahara from Kagoshima ETJ.

Sunday, 8th March 2009, will be the first ACET meeting for 2009! From 13.30 to 15.30.

A great big thank you to all that participated in today’s meeting!  I can’t tell you the speed that we went through the presentations that everyone prepared (ok, I might have been a little pushy, sorry guys!) and what little gems that we walked away with!  Love that banana song!

And the food afterwards was excellent!  Nigel’s bread rocked, and the chiffon cake was light and fluffy!  We all went home with left overs….bummer for those of you that didn’t show up!

We discussed some important business matters as well:

1) We will not have a January meeting as planned.  BUT, we are planning on having a New Years’s party on JANUARY 10th.  Please RSVP by January 5th if you can attend.  We’ll be meeting in Tenjin at 5 p.m. More details in the reminder email, so please keep your eyes peeled.

2)  There will be no official meeting in February, either.  Hey, slackers, you might be thinking.  No!  There is actually a big presentation on the second Saturday and we chose to duck the competition!  All ACET members are welcome to participate in the ETJ meeting the first Sunday of the month.  More in the news letter from Emi!

3)  We will start our new year with the March meeting.  Presentation by me, myself, and I.  Actually, I’ve got this crazy idea of a discussion panel in my head, and will contact some of you to participate.  Ok, more on that later, too.

Wow!  I had too much cake today.  Must get out and walk tomorrow!  Thank you again to all that came today.  I especially enjoyed seeing the two young ladies (daughters of our members) attend the meeting.  They were both very happy to participate in our games, etc.  Kind of gave a personal touch to the meeting.  I actually dreamed of one day bringing my own daughter along…but not for awhile as she just turned two in November!
