Hello all ACET regulars and fleeting surfer/viewer/irregular visitors!  Welcome to our new “internet presence”, as I shall initially call it!

Firstly, many thanks to those who helped maintain the previous homepage in good order for so long, especially, Rie-sensei, and Nigel-sensei who got it up and running, and to Yoriko-sensei (previous president and ACET stalwart) for updating the BBS.

Secondly, semantics! After all, it is a “blog”, and as such, can it really be referred to as a “homepage”, or “website” in the traditional sense?  I don’t know(or care, for that matter!), but I hope it can function as a BBS, and as an easy to use website.  I do apologize for not promising to work with the existing site, but my experience with proper “websites” has not been great or particularly fruitful.

It should be very simple to post photo’s, audio and video, and possibly handouts from the meetings.  That is of course assuming I can figure out how to use my office’s scanner properly!

Multiple people can be registered as contributors, so the ability to post is not limited to me, just let me know your email address at the next meeting and I’ll set you up with an account.  The ability to comment is open to all, so please, comment away and let’s get some good debates about teaching going!

One last thing – if you do post – please do not copy and paste from Word or other word processors, as the formatting goes funny.  Simply, compose plain text in “Notepad” – Windows, or “Text Edit” – Mac, or just type directly, and format “in-blog” as you would an email.
